WTF is this sound cause it's real annoying sounds like a gieger counter. For example (I will talk about external drives but the same applies for internals) an old WD elements drive of mine is so quiet when reading/writing that you have to move your head next to the drive and squint in order to hear anything. Check to see if anything was loose.
